Red leather, elaborately decorated in gilt, coat of arms on front and back covers, initials 'I.H.' on front cover, credit and title on spine, g.e.

The gilt coat of arms on the front cover (illus.) represents the House of Viceroy Mohammed Ali Pasha (1805-1848), the founder of the dynasty which ruled Egypt from 1805 to 1952. The initials 'I.H.' below the coat of arms is likely to be those of Hassan Ismail Pasha (1854-1888), son of Viceroy Khedive Ismail Pasha (1830-1895) who built modern Cairo during is 16 year reign.
