Each approx. 10 5/8 x 14½in. (26.9 x 37.2cm.) Each credited, captioned and numbered (almost entirely in sequence) in negative. Each mounted back-to-back. Red leather, elaborately decorated in gilt, coat of arms on front and back covers, initials 'I.H.' on front cover, credit and title on spine, g.e.
Album size: 17 5/8 x 13¾in. (44.8 x 34.8cm.)
The gilt coat of arms on the front cover (illus.) represents the House of Viceroy Mohammed Ali Pasha (1805-1848), the founder of the dynasty which ruled Egypt from 1805 to 1952. The initials 'I.H.' below the coat of arms is likely to be those of Hassan Ismail Pasha (1854-1888), son of Viceroy Khedive Ismail Pasha (1830-1895) who built modern Cairo during is 16 year reign.
