The subjects include members of princely families and their servants, religious devotees, Pathans, Tibetans and others. The Hon. Emily Eden was the sister of George, Lord Auckland (1783-1849), Governor-General of India from 1835 to 1841. She accompanied him to India during his term of office. 'Portraits of the Princes and People of India' was published in 1844 after her return to England. Not in Abbey. (4)
