This guitar was purchased by Stevie Ray Vaughan early on in his career in the 1970s and used by him throughout his career until his tragic death in 1990. The SRV stickers on the body of this guitar were a trademark of the majority of Stevie Ray Vaughan's guitars, a habit he picked up from brother Jimmie who started this trend before him. Stevie Ray called this guitar 'Lenny' after his first wife (the song of the same name appears on his first album Texas Flood, released in 1983). This guitar was used on the recording of the track Riviera Paradise released on the 1989 album In Step, and he would use this guitar on stage whenever he was playing Riviera Paradise live.
This is the only personal guitar of Stevie Ray Vaughan's to be released by the Estate into the public domain - all other guitars used by him are in the hands of the Estate.
