Ferruginous Thrush (Plate CXVI)
Brown Thrasher, Toxostoma rufum
Hand-colored engraving with aquatint and etching, on J Whatman dated 1831, a 3/8 x 5/8-in. hole in the upper left corner of the plate, a 7/8-in. tear in the left margin (just touching the image), a few short tears along the left, right and lower margin edges, a few soft handling creases and an occasional foxmark, otherwise in good condition.
