Document signed ("Joannes Gottlieb Fichte") as rector of the University of Berlin, attesting the matriculation of Gottfried Emil Fischer of Berlin, a student of philosophy, Berlin, 31 October 1810, 2/3 page, folio, papered seal intact, old folds, slight uniform browning, minor fraying at edges. A printed document completed in manuscript. Fichte was dean of the faculty of philosophy in 1810, the year when the University of Berlin was founded.
HEGEL, Georg Wilhelm Friedrich (1770-1831). Document signed ("Hegel"), certifying the "frequent attendance" of Johann Adalbert Karo at lectures on philosophy given by Hegel at the University of Berlin in 1823-1824, Berlin, 1 February 1925. 1 page, folio, slight browning along old folds mostly on blank verso. The document, which attests the lectures attended by Karo, was also signed by Professors Karl Wilhelm von Lancizolle (German public law), Karl Gustav Homeyer (twice: German civil law, and Feudal law), Heinrich Ritter (Christian philosophy), Caplick (Roman hereditary law), Friedrich Karl von Savigny (Roman law), Karl Schmalz (Canon law), Friedrich Daniel Ernst Schleiermacher (History of Greek philosophy), and Carl Ritter (Ethnography and geography of Asia).
