FISHER, John (1459-1535). Assertionis Lutheranae confutatio iuxta veterum ac originalem archetypum. Cologne: Peter Quentel, 1525. 4° (194 x 144mm). Woodcut English royal arms on title and last page, a few woodcut initials (a few quires at the beginning misbound, a little browning, small wormhole at beginning and a larger one in the second half of the book with very slight loss). 18th-century mottled calf (rebacked, worn). Provenance: Frater Bernardus Ferrariensis (ownership inscription, dated 1526, on last page) - Several later 16th-century marginalia and a long description on last page of Luther's dying moments. Perhaps the fifth edition of Fisher's refutation of Luther's reply to Henry VIII's Assertio. Adams F517
