The twelve characters used as numerals on this watch are known as the Earthly Branches which is an ancient Chinese numeral system used in the traditional Chinese calendar and Taoism. Each corresponds to an animal of the Chinese Zodiac and a Chinese hour that is equivalent to 120 minutes.
