FOUR APULIAN POTTERY VESSELS
Circa Late 4th Century B.C.
Including a Gnathian reel-shaped epichysis, the body with a mirror between dot and line motifs, the shoulders with a fillet centered by a rosette, a band of dots above, with egg-pattern on the flange, vertical lines on the neck, molded lion's heads at the juncture of the handle and rim; a miniature Xenon-group skyphos, the body with a band of laurel, a band of S's below the rim on one side, chevrons on the other; a Gnathian squat lekythos, the body with a network of cross-hatched lines, bands of key and wave above, vertical lines on the neck, palmettes below the handle; and a Gnathian pear-shaped epichysis, the body with a broad wreath centered by a rosette, bands of egg-pattern and dots below, dotted egg-pattern, battlements, zig-zag, red and yellow fillet, and dots above, with molded faces at the juncture of handle and rim
