Richard Wood (1712-1797) was the second son of John Wood of Copmanthorpe and Hollin Hall, Yorkshire, and his wife Frances. On the death of his elder brother John, in 1778, he inherited Hollin Hall. He married Elizabeth (d.1797), second daughter of Hutton Perkins, of Mill Hill, Middlesex, in 1745.
