Contemporary English calf gilt, red morocco lozenge gilt-tooled with elephant crest onlaid to uppermost compartment of spine, by Christopher Chapman (spine chipped at head, small split to upper joint). A fine copy of a work that was first issued in 1650; this edition includes four more illustrations than the original. The plates and full-page illustrations are after Charles Errard.
