Woodcut illustrations on title and on second leaf. 20 leaves. Stabbed self-wrappers, uncut, quarter morocco slipcase (restitched, some slight overall soiling). FIRST EDITION IN BOOK FORM of Freneau's poem "The Progress of Balloons," after several newspaper appearances. Freneau took a keen interest in early ballooning after hearing early reports of the Montgolfiers and Jean de Rosier. The almanac also includes a report on Lunardi's ascent in London.
