SIX VINTAGE PHOTOGRAPHS OF GAUDIER-BRZESKA BY WALTER BENINGTON; A RARE RECORD OF GAUDIER-BRZESKA IN HIS STUDIO. The photographer Walter Benington was introduced to Gaudier-Brzeska by Haldane McFall, and it was agreed that Benington would photograph the sculptor in his studio. Three of these photographs, taken in 1914, depict Gaudier-Brzeska working on his 'Hieratic Head of Ezra Pound' (for which, see the previous lot); two of these are reproduced as the frontispiece and plate IV in Pound's Gaudier-Brzeska and the third is reproduced as the frontispiece to A Memorial Exhibition of the Work of Henri Gaudier-Brzeska. Of the three other photographs, two are reproduced as plates II and III of Pound's Gaudier-Brzeska. (8)
