FIRST ENGLISH EDITION of Gauger's work, which was first published in Paris in 1713. 'The text, which was expanded and adapted for the English-speaking market by Desaguliers, was the first to deal specifically with the mechanics and problems of domestic heating, and had a great influence in Britain and America': RIBA 1182; Harris 244.
