F. R. Weldon, St. John's College, London, and label "This book was presented to University College, London, as part of the Weldon Bequest. December, 1937."
GM 337: "Gegenbaur's best work. He stressed the value of comparitive anatomy as the basis of the study of descent, considering that knowledge of the relations of corresponding parts in different animals was more important even than comparative embryology in this respect".
