FIRST EDITION, PRESENTATION COPY, inscribed by Gibson on the front endpaper: "Oct 1951 For Louise & Stefan with all best wishes Bill." Gibson's play about the life of Helen Keller and her teacher Annie Sullivan was made into a 1962 movie starring Patty Duke as Helen and Anne Bancroft as Annie Sullivan. Both Duke and Bancroft won Academy Awards for their performances.
