8o (196 x 125 mm). Contemporary calf gilt, smooth spine gilt, with two morocco lettering pieces (light wear to joints and edges). Provenance: Jean-Joseph Abbé Rive (1730-1791, autograph notes); A Claudin (two catalogue descriptions, one dated 1882 laid in).
PRICED in a contemporary hand. The library included "significant holdings in bibliography and Classical Greek and Latin literature" (North). De Bure's added numerous extensive notes to many of the important lots in this sale. This is Jean-Joseph Abbi Rive's interesting association copy, with bibliographical notes, four with extensions pasted onto the lower margins. Rive's library included a Gutenberg Bible.
