164 leaves. 59 lines and headline, double column. Types: 2:118cG (headings), 4:95R text; woodcut capitals 2a and 2b (large Maiblumen capitals), 3 (small outline captials). Headings and colophons printed in red. Opening 8-line initial illuminated by a contemporary Bavarian artist in blue with white and mauve modeling on a burnished gold ground with punch-dotted decoration, within segmented frame of green and red, a foliated green stem at inner, upper and lower margins, and large coat-of-arms in center of lower margin, rubricated with red filling to small capitals and printed paragraph signs, red capital strokes and underlines (the margins trimmed, affecting decoration, some marginal dampstaining heavier at end, last four leaves with marginal repairs, 1/9-2/5 with light worming, affecting a few letters on some pages). 18th-century half pigskin and speckled boards. Provenance: Augsburg, Augustinian monastery of the Holy Cross (inscription on 1/1); Bartholomaeus ("Can. Reg. S. Aug. ad S. Crucem Aug. Praepositus et Abbas Later 1760" engraved bookplate); Munich, Royal Library (early ink stamps on first and last leaf, presented to); Historical Society of Philadelphia (bookplate, and several old stamps to margins or between columns).
