London: 1874-1887. 8 volumes, 8° (210 x 130mm). EXTRA-ILLUSTRATED with c.350 portraits and views, and with 23 autographs most mounted and inlaid to size, many plates hand-coloured. Brown crushed morocco gilt by Bayntun (Riviere), covers with geometrical gilt panels, spines gilt in six compartments, gilt edges.
A fine set of Greville, the portraits encompassing the range of nobility and gentry from 1818-1887, the autographs including clipped signatures of George IV and Queen Charlotte; together with 6 extra illustrated works in 12 volumes, including Stanhope Life of William Pitt (London, 1861, 4 volumes), and Princess Marie Lichtenstein Holland House.
