The present drawing is also a study for Bildnis Friederike Maria Beer, 1916 (Dobai no. 196; please see note to the preceding lot). Frulein Beer is seen here standing, as she does in the oil painting; however the study is very likely an early one, because the dress in which she is attired is a Wiener Werksttte design more appropriate for daily wear than the low-cut silk dress she wears in the preceding study.
