The catalogue was prepared by the collector prior to his death. Each volume contains a printed list of important provenances, illustrating many of the fine copies collected by Guyot de Villeneuve. Included are books from the libraries of the Duchesse the Berry, Charles IX, Choiseul, Louis Dauphin, François I and II, Grolier, Comte de Hoym, Catherine de Medecis, Marquise de Pompadour and others.
