9 volumes, including supplement and plate volume, 8o (214 x 142 mm). Many reproductions including 223 plates. (Browned throughout.) Contemporary half-moroccco by A. Demuth, Berlin, with his label in the back cover of vol. I (rubbed). Provenance: Joh. Ax. Almquist (bookplate).
Complete set of this catalogue, limited to 500 copies concering the "Foreign Books"; the intended part on Scandinavian books was never published. Hammer intended to sell his vast library of more than 50,000 books, including collections on Linnaeus and Swedenbourg, to the Swedish state. This private treaty sale failed and the books were put up to auction after the collector's death between 1906 and 1910. (9)
