Ferdango was a colt foaled in 1852 by Barnton out of Castanette. He was bred by Lord Zetland and is shown in his famous colours. Between 1854 and 1856 he won numerous races including the Ascot Gold Cup in 1855 and the Doncaster Cup in 1856.
