Small 4to, contemporary speckled sheep, spine gilt with red morocco gilt label, two lower compartments of spine defective, extremities worn, upper joint cracked, old signature partly erased from foot of title with stain remaining, small oval patch on title (after removal of a library stamp), occasional minor stains and browning. Third edition, 2 engraved plates bound after the title, 2 leaves "Lectori" bound at end. Keynes 3; Waller 4089; Wellcome 3070.
The exceptionally rare first edition was published in Frankfurt in 1628 but was marred by printer's errors. An incomplete edition was next published, in Venice in 1635, followed by this, the second complete edition.
