A summer evening on the lake in Alexandra Park
signed with a fly (lower right), signed, inscribed and dated 'A Summer Evening on the lake in Alexandra Park./On nice evenings we walked through the Park on/our way home from having Tea with Great Aunt Buckley, who lived in a dark Brown House on/Greengate Street. George & I had been very good/so Aunt Charlotte and Aunt Frances took us for a/sail on the launch which was quite a thrill. It/took us past a little island where all the ducks/were getting ready to roost for the night. As we got nearer the landing stage we could/see Grandma, Mother and Aunt Mary who was/holding the dogs, Gyp and Barney, who barked when they/saw us, Miss Carter (who wore Pink) & Mr Taylor (the Bank/Manager) were walking back with us and would stay/to supper at Grandma's while George & I went home to Bed, and the year was 1906.
