Sold with an original receipt (dated 21 June 1919) and two letters from the artist to H.E. Mason.

La Thangue exhibited three paintings at the Royal Academy in 1919; In the Orchard, A Waterway in Provence and A Brescian Shore. All three were featured in The Royal Academy Illustrated from that year.
