A special print by Ponting, smaller that the 'D' (29in. width) print of this subject offered at the Fine Art Society selling exhibition. The subject was described in the exhibition catalogue: '117. An Iceberg off Cape Royds. A good illustration of the appearance of a tabular berg newly 'calved' away from the Great Ice Barrier... The berg is about a hundred feet high, and as only about the eighth part is visible above water, there are some seven hundred feet of ice below the surface. In the distance, the peaks of the Western Mountains can be seen.'
