Title in red and black with engraved vignette, engraved frontispiece and a folding plate, half title (a little very light browning). Early 19th-century red straight-grained morocco, gilt spine, gilt and blindstamped border round sides, gilt edges (rebacked with original spine preserved, covers lightly scuffed). Provenance: prize binding with gilt inscription to John Macauley, 1817, on lower cover and gilt supra-libros on upper cover of the Trustees of the Rugby Charity. Hoffmann II, p.231.

Title and text in Greek and Latin, folding engraved map by Lamb (map repaired with no loss at lower margin, a little light discolouration). Contemporary English calf (rebacked with old label preserved). Provenance: 18th-century presentation inscription 'Ex dono Richardi Meynell Gen:' - Repton School (gilt inscription on front cover).
