Scarce and extraordinarily detailed record of data set out in thirty-nine parallel columns for each of three hundred and twenty alphabetically listed HM propeller-driven vessels over the period 1845-68. For each trial of her machinery and speed, the data includes the vessel's tonnage and displacement, her five main dimensions, speed, the date and place of trial and its prevailing conditions, the type and manufacturer of her engines, seven features of her engines, nine features of her propeller, seven different ratios of dimension, power or speed and miscellaneous remarks.
