Austrian shield above MAX I IMP MDII, 32mm.x35mm., 10mm. deep, 53.29g. (Domanig, Erzh. 15; Habich 1925, tf.XXIII,1; Wilcz coll.18), pierced and plugged on the edge at 12 o'clock, very fine, a very rare struck example of this unusually thick rautenfrmige medal

Habich cites only two examples, this one, and another in Munich. Later cast examples, on thin flans, exist. The date appears to be arbitrary as the medal dates from around 1540.
