the extremely rare figure of King George VI in his uniform as Colonel-in-Chief, the Welsh Guards, marked South Africa 1947 on the base, in original box (E, box G)
Formerly a world record auction price for a single toy soldier was achieved for this figure of #1,200 at Phillips London on September 9th, 1987. Featuring in the Guiness Book of Records, 1989. It was later sold in a private sale for U.S. $5,000.
