The album was probably executed by a Dutch artist travelling south. The largest part was probably executed in South France and includes views of a tomb in Saint-Remy de Provenace, and numerous studies of its reliefs. The other views were done when travelling towards Spain of which one is of the Pont du Gard, near Nîmes. One of the Spanish landscapes is probably that of the Grotto near Maressa where Saint-Ignatious had his visions.
The album includes two studies of cattle, a marine scene, 35 studies of landscapes and a grotto, 27 are on two pages. An attribution to Adriaen van der Cabel has been suggested.
