Subsequent to the preparation of this catalogue entry, additional unpublished information from the Bugatti archives has kindly been made available by Véronique Fromanger Des Cordes:
The correct title for the model is "Leopard Au Repos", which dates from 1911, not 1908 as recorded in the Bugatti Catalogue Raisonné, p. 200. It has been confirmed that this model was cast in an edition limited to 20 examples.
The original plaster maquette for this study is in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Rome, the gift of Adrien-A. Hébrard in 1924.

The original plaster maquette for this study is in the permanent collection of the National Gallery of Art in Rome, donated by Adrien-A. Hébrard. The edition of this model was limited, although the precise number of examples cast is not recorded.
