The present composition shows similarities with two other pictures by Jan Frans Soolmaker; a signed panel formerly in the collection of Alfred Havanith, offered in Paris 10 November 1913, lot 18; the other on canvas, last recorded in Museum Brukenthal, Hermannstadt (Sibiu), Romania.
