(9 15/16 x 6 1/2in.), contemporary French green half morocco gilt and red paper boards, red morocco gilt spine labels, by Gaujean fils of Auch with his ticket, heads of spines chipped, lower joint of vol. 9 slightly cracked, a few plates with minor dampstain in vol. 1, plates 968-972 browned, a few others throughout slightly browned, several plate numbers cropped, one caption corrected in ink.
Octavo issue. 10 lithographed medallion portrait frontispieces of French botanists after Alexis Noel by Langlumé and 1000 color-printed stipple engravings by Dubreuil and Veron after drawings by Jaume Saint-Hilaire.
