oval, 1 7/8 in. (47 mm.) high, later silver-gilt brooch mount with pierced foliate surround, the contemporary turquoise blue enamel reverse with mirrored 'CC' cypher surmounted by a crown
According to family tradition given by King Charles II to George Jeffreys, 1st Baron Jeffreys (1648-1689), better known as 'The Hanging Judge' and thence by family descent.
