JEROME, Saint. Epistolae...et libri contra haereticos, Rome: Paolo Manuzio, 1565-64-65. 3 volumes in 2, 2° (337 x 225mm). Woodcut device on titles (a little browning and staining). 17th-century mottled calf gilt (very rubbed).
The first three volumes of an ambitious project to print the entire works of Saint Jerome in ten volumes, realised by Mariano Vittorio in 1571 and 1572. It is possible that Paolo Manuzio printed the fourth volume just before his departure from Rome back to Venice. Censimento CNCE 22473; Adams J132; Renouard 197/3. (2)
