Hendrix appears to be wearing this waistcoat on various occasions on stage - the photograph pictured here was taken during a recording session for the BBC Radio Show, Top Gear, at the Playhouse Theatre, London, 6 October, 1967.
This waistcoat is the property of David Tiger Taylor of the band Eire Apparent, who toured with Jimi Hendrix in 1969. According to Taylor, he inherited this waistcoat when the Hendrix Experience had left behind some clothes in a hotel in London prior to leaving for the U.S. Mike Jeffrey's secretary, Trixi Sullivan, had collected the clothes from the hotel and brought them to the Eire Apparent to pick out what they might want. The buttons and tassles on the waistcoat have been removed subsequent to Hendrix wearing it.
