Lot Essay

The tower on the right of the present lot can be identified as the Oost-Indische Toren which used to stand at the south-end of the Breedstraat until it was demolished in 1830. The present lot may be inspired by a print by Cornelis Pronk (1692-1759) who often worked in Enkhuizen between 1727 and 1730.
