JOHN DRINKWATER (1882-1937)
Autograph manuscript signed of his poem To R.L.S., one page, 4to, in blue ink.
The third and final stanza reads "And if the wearier pedants cry Upon the ardours of your page, Your lyric sermons yet defy The chill severities of age. And daily still are honoured in the code Of youth upon the road."
The vendor's father, Dr. D. Giordani, received this manuscript from the poet whilst he and his wife were both patients during the '20's and 30's.
