Bright and highly lustrous olive gold. Impressive in its high state of preservation. The name of Kellogg & Humbert bespeaks two of the most famous individuals in the history of California gold. It is perhaps providential that more of the recovered S.S. Central America ingots were of this firm than of any other-giving a wide opportunity for collectors and museums to acquire examples that otherwise would not be available for any price.
