Paris: 1824-1825. 2 parts in one vol, folio, 339 x 250mm., near-contemporary green half calf, lightly scuffed, some browning and spotting to plates. FIRST EDITION. 80 engraved plates. Rare and important flora of New Caledonia, part of the early deatailed documentation of South Pacific flora. Labillardiere had sailed as botanist on the voyage in search of La Pérouse. The plates are from drawings by Turpin, the originals of which are in the Lindley library. Nissen BBI 1117, Stafleu & Cowan TL2 4072.
