M. Levy, The Paintings of L.S. Lowry Oils and Watercolours, London, 1977, no. 18, as 'Industrial scene'.
London, Royal Academy, L.S. Lowry R.A. 1887-1976, September-November 1976, no. 310.
Lowry's factory scenes from the late 1960s combine all the basic elements from his previous works, presented, however, in a more simple form. Going to work is typical of the later industrial scenes often referred to by the artist as his 'dreamscapes'.
