LICHTENSTEIN, Martin Heinrich Carl (1780-1857). Ueber die Antilopen des nördlichen Africa. Berlin: Royal Prussian Academy of Sciences, 1926 4° (263 x 213mm). 5 hand-coloured lithographed plates by F. A. Schmidt, each folding and dated 1824. (Occasional minor spotting, light offsetting to a few plates.) Contemporary green glazed paper wrappers (rebacked), modern green cloth slipcase. Provenance: PRESENTATION COPY to Herr Graf von Veltheim (presentation inscription inside upper cover). Lichtenstein's account of the antelope, read at the Royal Prussian Academy of Sciences on 11 March 1824, with carefully-coloured plates by Schmidt, after his original drawings drawn from nature. Not in Nissen.
