66 x 66 cm. (26 x 26 in.)

The owner of Autumn Landscape, Mr Kopp, from Denmark, was Captain of S/S Heinrich Jessen, owned by Jebsen & Co., Hong Kong during the year 1961-1963. The ship went to Shanghai for discharging and loading.
Mr Kopp contacted Mr van Rosbrook who knew the artist Lin Fengmian. Together they visited the artist at his studio, and Mr Kopp bought four paintings from him. To avoid trouble with guards on the ship Mr Kopp requested and received a receipt signed by the artist himself.
When Mr Kopp returned to Hong Kong, Mr Jacob Jebsen, the Director of the Shipping Company, came on board and wanted two of the paintings. Another painting was sold to Mr H.U. Beck, a shipping clerk from spain. The last paintings, Autumn Landscape, was brought back to Denmark when Mr Kopp left Hong Kong in 1963. The frame is handmade by a local carpenter in Shanghai from bog oakwood in the same style as Mr van Rosbrook's collection.
