According to Krainik & Woolverd, this rare example 'is one of the most beautiful and sought-after of all Union cases. As a thermo-plastic case, it represents a tour de force for the engravers and the case manufacturer. The design appears on the obverse and reverse of the case'.
No VAT will be charged on the hammer price, but VAT at 17.5% will be added to the buyer's premium which is invoiced on a VAT inclusive basis.
