Folio, 276 x 183 mm., contemporary calf, rebacked, a few side-notes shaved, title and last leaf a bit soiled, marginal dampstain to first few leaves, occasional slight discoloration to outer margins, marginal tear to last leaf. 2 parts in one, woodcut arms of James I on first title, repeated on verso of second title, 315 text woodcuts in part 2, 5 on inserted slips, woodcut initials.
First edition of part 1, consisting of Lobel's previously unpublished notes on the pharmaceutical works of his mentor Rondelet. Part 2 is a reissue of the sheets from Thomas Purfoot's 1570-71 edition of the Stirpium adversaria nova, with additions and cancel title-page Dilucidae Simplicium Medicamentorum Explicationes.
