Original cloth (spine rebacked in modern green morocco). Second Edition. 'In 1831 Edward Trendall published the first book of house designs intended specifically for the surburban environs of large cities. Loudon was the next, and the first to use the word surburban in his title. Loudon was also the first to discuss surburban design pre se, focusing on matters of architecture and building as well as on the aspirations and ideals involved in surburban living': Archer 190.2.
