Contemporary brown calf, the covers with black diamond panel decorated with six gilt figures of an owl on the top and bottom of a globe, smooth spine gilt-lettered longitudinally with full title and imprint of the work, board edges gilt, edges gilt (some light rubbing). Provenance: faint writing in French dated 1812 on flyleaves; Edward Arnold (bookplate); Dr. Lucien-Graux (booklabel).
