The sale catalogue of Manzoni's extraordinary library, consisting of 25,000 volumes, including manuscripts and early printed books of great rarity, many of which came from the Libri and Wellesley libraries. Manzoni, at one time finance minister of the Roman Republic, and involved in the liberation of Italy, was also a distinguished historian of early Italian printing. (2)
