LIMITED EDITION, one of 20 copies. An apparently unrecorded catalogue of the important private library of William Martin, chargé de affaires of Hawaii in Paris. An earlier, catalogue of the library appeared in 1858 according to item No. 2,138 in the present volume (the only citation discovered). The 2,224 entries are arranged according to the French classification system, under theology, science and art, belles-lettres, and history, many accompanied by notes; there is a sixty-column index at end. Blogie II, col. 117, records the 1869 auction of Martin's "poetical library" of 1,126 lots.
